Bunch of Bananas

We received a bunch of bananas from some friends in eastern Thailand. And when I say a bunch, I mean a lot, about a meter/yard long stick with banana groups all around it all the way down.

Trying to describe this got me wondering, what do you call a bunch of bananas?

Here's what I found, from our modern day thesaurus (a.k.a. the internet).
The banana fruit grow in hanging clusters, with up to 20 fruit (can be called fingers) to a tier (called a hand), and 3-20 tiers to a bunch. The total of the hanging clusters is known as a bunch, or commercially as a "banana stem."

So I guess we literally were given a bunch of bananas.
