Old barn near Eyam

After buying some new boots in Bakewell, I had the luxury of a day's walk in the Peak District today - a mix of villages, limestone valleys and open fields. There was not much sun, and the cloud closed in with drizzled for a while in the afternoon. But it was great to be out, and upper Cressbrook Dale was probably the highlight. I started in Eyam, famous as the plague village, and also visited Stoney Middleton, Wardlow and Foolow. Walk distance 10.5 miles (16.9 km).

The chosen picture was between Eyam and Stony Middleton near the start of the walk. It features a rather atmospheric farm ruin in a valley surrounded by fields and woodland.
