Another red day

When this cleverly designed device shows red lights, it is time to be stingy with electricity. On journées rouges power is significantly more expensive than on white or, even better, blue days (bleu-blanc-rouge: the French flag). This is to make you reduce your power consumption as many houses are heated by electricity coming mainly from nuclear power plants - and against better judgement electric heating is still promoted. It is not openly admitted that the reliance on nuclear power stations is deceptive and causing serious problems for the French power grid. On the contrary: Today in radio spots EDF tried to convince the public that everything was o.k. and there was no need to worry.
