At the end of the end the day, I have no idea what this post is for. One usually sees them an streets or lanes blocking traffic from going through, or on the edge of pavements to stop cars mounting the kerb.
Originally some type would have been used for hitching horses to, back in the day. But this one is almost right up against the wall of, what is now the side of a Burger King on Dee Street in Aberdeen. The building has been there for over a hundred years, well over actually, so it only adds to the mystery.
