Today's image shows the view through the Civic gallery window in Barnsley. We visited this afternoon to view the Royal Photographic Society 154th International Print Competition. There are some stunning images and also some very thought provoking ones. It was interesting to read the rationale provided by the medal winners - it's good to see that ideas are being explored and developed through photography - perhaps one of the failings in much club photography. It's well worth a visit if you are in the Barnsley area as it is one of the few venues where the exhibition is on display. And what a stunning venue it is too - my first visit and I was seriously impressed!

We ate a very late lunch in the Cooper Art Gallery (close by) and then had a quick look at their current exhibition which, with the exception of one or two artworks, was a rather disappointing display of local stuff.
