Great Dividing Range

We took our visitors on a long drive south - stopped at Coffs Harbour for morning tea, then went a bit further south and headed west on to Bellingen for a look around there. We then headed up into the mountians via the Waterfall Way to Dorrigo. Dorrigo sits on a plateau on top of part of the Great dividing Range which runs from the northern tip of Queensland, down the eastern part of Australia through NSW and right on into western Victoria. It consists of a complex of mountain ranges, plateaus, upland areas and escarpments with an ancient and complex geological history. We visited the Dorrigo World heritage Rainforest Centre and had a lovely lunch there. We then came home a different road through Grafton, Lawrence and over the river by car ferry and home through Maclean. All in all a big day and we arrived home at 6.10pm with friends arriving at 6.30 for a BBQ. Phew.... just made it in time. We had a great time though.
This shot is taken from the Dorrigo plateau Lookout over part of the Great Dividing Range - layers of mountains as far as the eye can see for 180 degrees.
PS I will catch up with everyone's blips over the next few days hopefully.
