world in a grain of sand

the darkest hour...

Who likes February? Few, if any takers I imagine. The countryside is brown and grey, and today the wind is blowing cold. But there are stirrings - if you look closely. In the garden, already there are buds breaking on the roses, (they will have to be restrained!) and the really early varieties of daffodil are gallantly trying to cheer up the scene with the help of a few brave primroses.
But here on the allotments all looks dormant. I'm not an allotmenteer, but it looks so tidy here that my assumption that they're all at home poring over the seed cataloguess might just be mistaken. What a wonderful view for those who do till the ground here!
