Something old, something new

A very quick blip today as the invasion of the grandchildren is about to take place and it has started to snow.

A hundred years and 5000 miles separate the bowl and the fruit that it contains.

The Art Nouveau pewter and green glass centre-piece dates from around 1900 and was made by the German company WMF, Wurttemburgische MetallwarenFabrik.

Only one piece of fruit in the bowl is real, the rest are artificial and made in China in the last few years.
