Ticking Away the Moments

Costumes

Went to the RSC in Stratford on Avon today and had a quick tour round looking at all the options available as a wedding venue - you can actually get married on the stage if you want to!

These are apparently costumes from a production of The Tempest - they've had to hide them away a bit on the top floor as children kept trying on the mouth hat and it was at risk of being damaged.

It was really interesting to look round, we haven't been for quite a few years. I didn't realise that they have a couple of exhibition spaces with regular (and free) shows of a wide range of art. There is a cafe, restaurant, several bars, a terrace, 2 theatres, a shop - and 600 people work there. The RSC also owns the garden alongside the river, where you can have a marquee for larger wedding parties.

I took a few photos in our whistle-stop tour - my flickr album is here if you want to see a few more costumes and photos of different parts of the building.

I loved it, and will definitely go back and spend a bit more time looking round - we might even go and watch a play, I picked up the brochure with details of the current season.

We're not going to get married there though, it's not for us...
