Happy New Year

Today we spent a most enjoyable time with friends at Aro Ling in Bristol celebrating Losar, Tibetan New year, which this year falls on 22nd February.

Some of the visitors were somewhat bemused when we wished them a Happy New Year, they thought perhaps we were a little late in our celebrations. The Tibetan year doesn't coincide with the western year and can fall in January, February or March.

I think we should be used to dealing with multiple new years as we already have the Gregorian year, Tax year, Leave year, Financial year and Academic year.

Perhaps when the new tax year rolls round we'll raise our glasses and wish the taxman a Happy New Year.
