Katherine

Iris Katherine Hodgkin emerging just a few days after the snow melted, a sure sign that Spring is in the air.

Cold and bright today - lovely! Managed three outings with three different family members. Church with J. B&Q with R for model railway baseboard, we can get a piece of 6x4 in the car ..... just! Aylsham with A to say farewell to friends who brought their caravan to Norfolk for a few days, we've had some great outings with them.

Who is Katherine? The iris, introduced to cultivation in 1958, is named after Katherine Hodgkin, wife of expert bulb grower Eliot Hodgkin. At the time they were prominent members of the Alpine Garden Society. This iris, a hybrid of cultivation, is easy to grow in deep, well drained soil.
