Heading for the Hills

By Gordon

Last of the Sun for a while

The weather does,nt look good for this week apart from the temperatures increasing along with the chance of rain. Witch explains why a lot more folk were out making the most of the Sun and blue skies today.

My route this morning gave me the chance of a clear view of Herdus and Grasmoor in the background which was the subject of a callout for the Mountain Rescue yesterday.

We had Dinner at the Fox and Hounds ,Ennerdale ( Cumberland sausage, beautiful) and then drove through Buttermere and up to the Honister slate mine where we enjoyed a cuppa at the 'Sky high Cafe' not forgetting the delicious bar of Choclate.

Passing though glorious Borrowdale we stopped at keswick and had a couple of miles walk along Derwent water, but by this time the blue skies were replaced with overcast moody clouds. Headed back home with an empty petrol tank but it was worth it...Rain tomorrow.
