Royal Celebrations

Not long home.Been up to Newcastle tonight to be part of the Theatre Royal's 175th Celebrations and it was well worth the trip.
The evening kicked off with a dazzling light , sound and pyrotecnic display, projected onto the portico of the theatre frontage. The Corinthian columns looked fabulous .It really was quite stunning, with giant birthday cakes on either side.
Grey Street was completely closed off to allow four mini productions to be staged, all of famous thearical works, such as Macbeth, Romeo and Juliet, Oliver and Cinderella. They were all brought up to date with a twist, especially for the event.
The highlight of the evening for me had to be when one of the dames descended upon hubby and dragged him into the centre of the action to dance with him her !! Not quite Bill' scene.I thought I had captured it all on video but in my excitement, must have double clicked on the button resulting in no evidence of the night's hilarities!
Finished the evening off with a piece of celebration cake before boosting the heat in the car on the way home.We were frozen to the bone but it was oh so worth it!
