Ocean weather

I've found that the clouds over the ocean here are different than those I'm used to seeing off the California coast. The weather here is distinctly...oceanic. The Hawaiian islands are these little blips (so to speak) on the ocean's surface; they don't disrupt the fronts nearly as much as, say, the west coast of North America does. Somehow the weather just feels more wild and untamed here. It gives one a strange sense of being somewhere very remote, very primal. People around here talk a lot about being able to feel the energies of the island. Between the volcanic activity and the open ocean, the movements of the earth are very palpable here. It can be very exhilarating.
