Bolsover hillside

View to part of the town from the edge of the reserves in the valley. The oldest part of town is on the hilltop near the castle (left of picture). Housing estates later spread down the hill on the north side of the castle, and finally these on the south side are generally the more recent, although still with some older development around. Many of the houses have fine views west towards the Peak District. My parents and I live in one of the new red brick houses in the foreground with the little white dormer windows at the top.

The glorious sunshine lasted all day. There was a real sense of the stirrings of the change of season. Even though the air was basically cool, it was calm and the sun seems to be gaining strength. It was a day sparkling with all the manifold evidence of the Creator God before anyone who has the senses tuned in to the powerful testimony of His handiwork.

We enjoyed a fine worship service in the morning. Our Saviour is worthy of all praise and worship, we wondered afresh at His perfect humanity and yet full deity, a mystery which can never be fathomed. Yet His life speaks to us from the pages of Scripture with such clarity, with no sense of any split or tension in His complete unity as a personality. And He lives now in the glory of heaven giving those with faith in Him full assurance of forgiveness, acceptance by God, and of a sure hope for time and eternity. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
