Touch of colour

Spied on my cycle home from work, these crocuses were growing alongside a pathway on our estate.

I guess they've escaped from someone's back garden. They were quite on their own - surrounded by at least a half a metre of dull dead leaves in all directions. Nice splash of spring colour. Then, when I arrived home I spotted another tiny purple tip poking up in my front garden :)
