The fool on the hill

Fields of (fool's) gold

Remember the early to mid nineties when any arable farmer worth his salt had at least one crop circle?
Wiltshire was full of them.
Lots of folk made it into a nice little earner: farmers charging visitor fees; photographers (the 'crop circle' on the Led Zep Remasters album cover was in a field at the bottom of one of our hang gliding sites); Local microlight schools taking people for sight-seeing tours; American academics setting up camp for the summer on a nice little research grant; The Barge Inn in Honeystreet became the unofficial 'nerve centre' for the researchers, tourists and weirdos who flocked to the area.
What a good job we have space aliens.
This is in Wiltshire BTW.
