Netsuke

Here's one from the stores... I was measuring up shelves and I saw the Netsuke again...

These are Japanese sculptures that would be used as toggles and would hang from cords from their kimono... individually crafted and based on myths and stories and folklore...

The other unusual thing I saw today was a Pleo, an animatronic dinosaur which belongs to one of our curators ... designed as a pet for people who don't want the commitment and hair of a real one....

always nice to see odd things : )
