Market Stall; Saffron Walden

I had to go into Saffron Walden today, to visit an optometrist and since I am trying to Blip photographs, which relate to my activities, took a camera. Tuesday is market day, so there were certain to be a number of stalls in the Market Square and I expected to take one or two colourful pictures. Susan was quicker off the mark than I was and lifted her camera to take a general photo of the market from the North West Corner, to be screamed at by a stallholder that it was illegal to take a photo of her or her stall. She then accused her of intending to take it in order to follow her and steal her stock. It was pointed out to her that it was a public place and no such law applies in Great Britain. This only made her angrier and to avoid any unpleasantness we moved on after a brief but polite exchange of words.

Not all of the market traders were unhappy about our taking photographs and I have included the one above of a stallholder with his display of specialist breads and cakes who chatted to us. The cakes looked and smelled delicious, so I bought a couple of cherry slices and indulged in one after my pancakes, it tasted even better than it looked. This was not the most colourful picture, that was the flowering plants, but I thought that it was the cake stall that related best to my activities. The visit to the optometrist provided no opportunity for a worthwhile photo, but the visit did provide the required visual assessment.
