Pioneer Fisherman

Fremantle Fishing Boat Harbour was established in 1919, when a breakwater was constructed to provide a safe anchorage for the local fishing vessels.

It is still a very busy working port, and is now the home to many fine "Fish and Chip" purveyors.

This sculpture honours the many families that have contributed to the fishing industry in Fremantle - in the very heart of the Fishing Boat Harbour where it all began with names listed for their pioneering spirit and the hardships endured.

A statue honouring the guys who bring home the "Fish and Chips".

We frequently visit there on a summers evening and have a good old serve of fish and chips...with a bottle of Western Australian chilled white wine, usually Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
