Matt's school won the athletics competition at Meadowbank today, and it's fair to say he was chuffed to have played his part.

He was telling me they'd shared the coach back with another school, Campie, who they'd beaten by quite a margin. Had they given them a hard time about it, I asked.

"Oh yeah," he replied with a smile.

I didn't have it in me to mutter about the spirit of fair play. There are limits.
