Shadow river

About three kilometres as the crow flies from our house, our little river the Ser tumbles into the embrace of its big brother (rivers being masculine, no?) Rio Fluvia. From a narrow trickle in a shallow valley suddenly there is a proper steep sided confined body of water which flows busily into a wooded defile.

In the cliffs above the river is a Hermitage carved out of the rock ( another day another blip) but driving along beside the river I came upon a calm patch, at 4 in the afternoon the sun cast a deep dividing shadow over the bluff on my side of the river and two toned the hillside opposite.

The colours caught my eye, and as so often happens the days capture was established
