Mad dogs and...?

As every day, today's programme was changed because of too much snow - but we still had an immensely enjoyable and exciting day.
The plan was for the bus to take us to a mountain village from which we would have a walk on the mountain above the village. First change was the bus dropped us at the junction where the side road to the village left the main road - it might have been able to get there but good job it didn't - wouldn't have been able to get out next morning.
So we carried our snow shoes to the village where our group was staying in two houses and eating in another - wonderful Bosnian food prepared and served by wonderful Bosnian people. They are some of the friendliest people in the world.
Then, as the cloud came in and the snow started - horizontally in the high places exposed to the wind - we went for a walk, accompanied by one of the local dogs again. Quite a short walk but hard work in knee-deep soft snow. This picture was at the highest and most exposed point - as soon as we went down a bit all was calm.
Finally we went to a house at the top of the village where an elderly couple lived and kept sheep. They hadn't been heard of for 10 days since the snow came, but we could get there with our snowshoes and found the couple and their sheep doing fine.
Back in our wooden house with the stove on, it was more than snug - got seriously warm. The villages are all new after all the original houses were destroyed by Serb forces in the war in the '90s.

I got quite a variety of photos and decided not to go for a pretty one of sun and snow, or even a technic'ly half decent one, but to go for wildness.
This is Samer and the dog at a shepherd's hut. We found a smidgen of shelter behind it for a cup of tea before descending to more peaceful parts.
