Dingwall Museum

Another dreich wet day so we decided to go to Dingwall. was quite happy as I wanted to see if the shop there had the wool to finish my cardigan, but sadle they don't have it and it has been discontinued so will have to see if I can get some on the web. This is a photo of Dingwall Museum. Dingwall was a market town with a very large Auction in the centre of town. Due to the foot and mouth and all the new rules for selling animals the site was sold to Tesco and a new Auction place was built out of the town with all the facilities needed for cleaning lorries and concrete standing that can be easily cleaned. The Town main street is pretty dead now with a lot of the shops closing since the Tesco store opened. It is such a shame as there was a lot of little private owned dress shops and bakers and butchers. There is still one butcher and two baker shops left and a drapers and a few charity shops and a very good ironmongers. The weather there was dry and much better than in Tarbet
