Winter wonderland

Last day in Bosnia and guess what - today's Plan A was to walk up the hill to a refuge then down the other side into the outskirts of Sarajevo where the bus would pick us up and take us to our hotel in the centre. But there was so much soft snow it was all going to take too long.
So Plan B: we just went up to the refuge, had lunch there - a fabulous lunch, we burned a lot of calories on this holiday but consumed even more - then back to the starting point where the bus was waiting for us. Back to Sarajevo, little bit of shopping, final meal together (at the brewery), and ready for a 5am start for our flight to Zagreb then Heathrow.
It was snowing when we got up but soon the sun came out for a wonderful last day of a brilliant adventurous holiday.

Some reading - The cellist of Sarajevo by Stephen Galloway, a novel which conveys what it was like living in Sarajevo under siege.
Our holiday was organised by Exodus through their local partner in Bosnia Green Visions.
