Arise Sir Al

Can only speculate what might be going on in this game which the children were at for hours this afternoon.

It was lovely to see them playing in the sunshine in the garden for the first time in what seems like an age. Al was out there in his bare feet 1 minute after getting home from school.

Feeling very gloomy. The usual.

This time 11 years ago I had been having (admittedly rather mini) contractions for nearly 12 hours. We were about to tuck into a giant pizza as we thought I might not be able to eat for a while. A while - we were right. Betsy wasn't born for a further 20 hours, rocking up at 4pm the following day, after about 35 hours of labour. She has done everything on her own terms from the very start.

I was glad of that pizza. The only thing I was allowed to eat during that all time was a Smint.
