Composition No 520: Just Resting in My Account ...

Money raised in Grantown on Spey for the relief of wounded soldiers during the Napoleonic Wars was never sent for reasons unknown.
Perhaps, as Father Ted said "the money was just resting in my bank account".
The cash was eventually used to purchase the town clock and bell in 1824.
Originally housed in the Speyside orphanage building in the square the bell is now housed in this campanile outside the museum.
Odd structure really, but I like it ..................
