Here we go again!

Parc Clichy-Batignolles-Martin Luther King

J ran 26km this morning through 7 arrondissements (16,15, 14, 13, 5, 6, 7 - in that order). This afternoon we visited some friends in the 17th arrondissement, so J was able to add two more to his list for the day (17th and 18th). I don't imagine we can ever beat that record (going through them on the subway doesn't count, of course).

We had a wonderful lunch. A is an old friend from elementary school. She and her partner sold their home in Toronto last year and have started up a business in Paris. After lunch we walked through the Batignolles neighbourhood and saw this new park, just opened in 2008 on former railroad lands.

According to the city's web site, it is an environmentally self-sufficient park. The solar panels on the roof of the buildings here produce enough energy to heat them and to light the park at night. The water in the pond is used to water the park's grass.

Un beau dimanche!
