Painting into the early hours of the morning

Deadlines are fast approaching and my nights are looking more and more like this (minus the frat party last night and drinks with my cousin in brick lane earlier - bad student). People often mock creative subjects, saying they don't challenge the mind or require as much work as "academic subjects". Well I'd like to see some of those science majors tackle 3 sketchbooks, organise and shoot 4 photoshoots, create PDF documents fit for the eyes of Vogue editors as well as pump out 5 thousand word essays in just one term. For me, the essays are a piece of cake. People don't realise how much goes in to each page in a sketch book, and actually how much thought went into it - probably more than any essay would evoke!

The other night someone said to me "photography is so easy, anyone could do it really" (only someone who lacks creativity could think that) I explained to her that I will spend the next week casting a model, visiting locations around London, possibly having to carry out risk assessments, organise the style of the shoot, choose and then brief the hair and makeup artist, sort out copyright/model and location release forms, style the shoot and then source clothes and accessories plus back ups, coordinate the shoot - making sure everyone gets to the right place at the right time, with the right equipment and then finally shooting and editing it. There's so much that goes on behind the scenes - fashion is hard.
