Clean the nation

Gambia is the only country I know of in the World that has such a thing as a clean the nation day! Please correct me if you know of anywhere else.
Basically it's every last Saturday in the month. The whole country is suppose to clean their homes and the roads and area around them. Most of Gambia just have a morning off. But it means that there are no cars allowed on the roads. It's an eerie feeling. Police patrol the roads to ensure no one is driving around when they should be cleaning. However, it means that I can cross a normally very busy road with ease!
