What is it?

Waddies began life as a traditional printing firm in 1860 when Mr John Waddie and his younger brother, Charles, established the firm at 11 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh.

The boss in middle of the 20th century was Marcus Waddie Ward, who died suddenly in 1964. My father-in-law's department was responsible for all the stationery and printing work of the British Linen Bank - so he and Marcus were close friends (the way business was done in those days). So we are guessing that this was a present from Marcus to Jimmy.

But what is it? All will be revealed tomorrow - but by that time I am sure that two dozen of you will have guessed.
