Imagine a life without colour....

Try this.....Close your eyes......count to 10.....imagine when you opened your eyes, that nothing had changed - You were in darkness.

It is unimaginable. A life without colour, movement, texture or depth?

We have no concept of what it is to be totally 'In the dark'
I have read about Rosita McKenzie and have tried to imagine her world.

Today, as I came home across the River Nile on the ferry, I recognised this lady as she sat alone. I had seen her before, about the same time, crossing to the West from the East.
A strong, cold wind today, whipped around her, as she waited for her sister to come upstairs from the deck below.

At first glance, you would never know that this lady is blind. Everyday, she is brought to the public ferry and walks with a member of her family, as they ask commuters for any spare change.

There is no lack of dignity in asking for help and that is what moves me. Luxor people are so forthcoming in helping those that need it. Sadly, it is becoming a more frequent sight.
