Class 90 Sir John Betjeman at Norwich Station

This is Class 90 Sir John Betjeman - I had to take a photo given the name - at Norwich Station (formerly Norwich Thorpe Station of the GER) this afternoon ready to take the 17 30 to Liverpool Street.

In the background the spectacular mansard roof of the Station can be seen and the Cathedral spire to the far right.

Sir John is in the livery of the new single franchise Greater Anglia run by Abellio the Dutch State Railway.

When I was a small boy I came down to the end of this platform with my father to see the Britannia Pacifics then working out of Norwich. A gust of wind blew off my bobble hat, which was rescued by a kindly railwayman.
