Penicuik House Project

What a lovely surprise this was! Every time I drive to Penicuik I drive past a car park which looks like the entrance to a forest walk. After visiting Tesco this morning I decided to take Rory for a walk, and this is what I discovered! Penicuik House has stood as a ruin for over 100 years (outrage!) after a fire left it a shell. The Penicuik House Project is conserving the building as it is at risk of further decay and ultimate collapse. I hope to blip this several times over the next few years to track its progress. The estate itself is gorgeous, with long walks within the grounds. A great spot for a picnic in the summer I think!
