Garstang

Garstang, Lancashire - nothing faster than 20mph and no one younger than 65 but in fairness it is a pleasant town. We were passing and needed a supermarket so we called in.
This decorative piece is part of a small open space which is being laid out mainly in small paving blocks. I think that the standard of workmanship is very good especially this part of it.
The grey oval "plaque" tells us that "In 1314 a weekly market was granted to Garstang by Edward II Renewed by Elizabeth I in 1597 The towns charter was granted by Charles II in 1680"
