Nelson Mandela Place

I took a different way home from work today to get a fresh outlook. I made my way to the top of the hill for a good view. The building at the bottom is in the middle of Nelson Mandela Place.

The story I've heard is that, during apartheid, the South African Embassy was located on the square. As a form of protest, Glasgow city council renamed the square Nelson Mandela place so that any letter to the embassy was addressed with his name. Gotta love it.
