And Another Thing...

A Packed Sporting Line-up On Today's Show!

Off to Dundalk at the crack of dawn - or so it felt - for a fascinating rugby blitz, pitting Monkey Boy against a diverse mix of teams; Dundalk, Dundalk and then Dundalk! Amazing to see their set-up, and all credit to them in having three teams at under-8 (with subs!). Final tally; win 1, lose 1, draw 1. Then back down to Drogheda, for a quick scrub and snack before round 2...

It's hard to explain the importance of Inter-County Gaelic to the non-Irish, more akin to international matches in other sports. Today, it was Louth v Tyrone in Division 2 of the league, and the half-time entertainment came courtesy of the Newtown Blues under-8s and under-10s in exhibition matches against local rivals the O'Rahillaighs. And they got to unveil the new banner for the club's 125th anniversary.

Monkey Boy was fascinated watching the kids playing in Croke Park as we saw Louth get cheated out of the 2010 Leinster Championship, so we're all delighted to see him get his turn. Hopefully, it's not the last time I'll hear his name being read out on a teamsheet at the County Ground!

And I still haven't gotten to watch Ireland-France, the Hammers' glorious defeat of Cardiff or AVBs "walk of shame!"
