Two Cute Kids

We've just arrived in Monteverde by way of a long, twisting bumpy road - not nearly as bumpy as the one we will leave by in a couple of days.

It rained a huge amount overnight so the road was muddy, which led to our minibus slip - sliding as we climbed some of the steeper inclines. There was a tourist in a four wheel drive in front of us, driving too slowly for the conditions. Chico, our intrepid and very experienced driver, tried to push him into picking up speed to no avail. The inevitable happened; we got caught in the mud and had to reverse several hundred metres to take another run at the quagmire. Meanwhile the culprit in the 4x4 continued on, oblivious. Chico wasn't fazed at all by this and sailed through at speed this time.

We tend to stop if we see wildlife, or in this case a baby goat bouncing around on some kind of flywheel contraption. The little girl saw us and ran to pose with her pet. Even though we have half the day left here, I've taken advantage of temporary access to wifi - who knows when the next chance will come?
