Grandma and Grandad Funday Tuesday

Anna has a full day with Grandma and Grandad on a Tuesday and always goes on lots of fun adventures, so thanks go to my dad today for the photo! Today it was a trip to the Beatrix Potter Exhibition in the Birnam Institute, which is just fabulous and beautifully done. The institute does great food and coffee, so I'm sure the threesome tucked into buns or cakes of some sort!

In the exhibition itself, you can sit at old school desks and draw on chalkboards, just as Beatrix would have done. You can play at being a shopkeeper in the well-stocked grocers. You can put on your own puppet show, or dress up like Mrs Tiggywinkle, choosing from a little wardrobe of beautifully made costumes. And, keeping in character, you can even wash some handkerchiefs and hang them up on a washing line. There are also lots of puzzles and games, and an area with soft cushions where you can watch some DVDs about Beatrix Potter, including the marvellous Tales of Beatrix Potter ballet.

In the little garden outside there are statues of Mrs Tiggywinkle, Jeremy Fisher and, of course, a couple of rabbits for good measure.

It is a lovely place to visit and I would highly recommend it. More details are here.
