Game(s) Over

Well that's it folks! I won't be around in the 'jing to report on the Paralympics but it's been an awesome couple of weeks. The pre-games parties that I went to seem like an age ago but the fortnight seems to have gone so quickly.

My ticket to London House was obviously lost in the post so a crowd of us decided to go to Wangfujing to watch the closing ceremony on the big screen, having heard that the atmosphere there was great two weeks ago at the start of the Games. However we were disappointed to find that the fun police were out in force and nothing was happening. Nobody seemed to know what was going on but there were police, military and media galore. The crowds of people were being dispersed and so we reluctantly left and resorted to a bar that was showing it, closer to home.

Didn't rate our eight minutes of glory but didn't think for a second that it could compete with what the hosts had displayed. Ah well - it'll be interesting to see how London does in 2012 and if Boris Johnson's speech on arrival at London House tonight is anything to go by....God help us!
