A day in the life

CIRCESS

I went in for the Fri night tournament at the circus casino, 44 players £10 buy in. Managed to get put out on the very last hand before the break - no more buy ins after - so bought in for £10 and got a £10 add on.

Started after the break with 3000 chips, then got a real run of decent cards and found myself at the final table, eventually with 7 or 8 players left I was chip leader and cruising. Top 6 got the dough, so I stayed out of trouble till I got to last four.
My inexperience cost me dear as this was like a marathon war of attrition, I'm not sure if the other three were out to get me (they all knew each other), or if I was playing too tight, but I seemed to be getting my blinds continuously raised but, they didn't seem to attack each other. The great cards I had earlier dried up. My chips slowly went down, when I eventually noticed how much of my stack had dwindled I went all in with a pair of 5's got called with a pair of 7's, game over.
Fairly pleased with the £130 prize money though should have done better. Another 4 o'clock finish - pokers a hard way to earn an easy living.
