Froggie Went A-Courting

Our efforts to restore the pond have not met with long-lasting effect. The Council is still persuing the matter with a view to solving the problem but, though the area is damp, there is no lying water.

However, this has not put off the frogs, who have returned to spawn as their instincts dictate. Today we saw three couples, a few singles and a lot of spawn already laid.

Our problem now is whether, and how, to rescue some spawn before the events of last year are repeated - all the spawn had died before we realised that there was a problem.

Tomorrow we'll take a bucket and scoop some up to put in some water in the garden to give us time to find a more permanent solution. Any advice, especially from Edinburgh blippers, gratefully received.

I have backblipped for yesterday.
