When night turns into day

So I loved playing with the night sky yesterday when I captured the moon so thought I would have another go tonight. This time trying to capture the stars. I left the shutter open for ages and had the ISO up pretty high and voila "night turned into day" I probably should of had the shutter slightly quicker so the earth didn't have time to spin around and make the stars appear elongated but I liked how it affected the clouds so there it is can't have everything....
