Gardening

It was a lovely spring morning so we decided that it was time to do some gardening. Mr A, or the Grumpy Old Git as some blippers know him, hacked pruned the roses in one of the small front borders. He also cleared a lot of rubbish and cut back the rampant lilac and various other things. This picture does not show the extent of the weeds and unruly shrubs, but I did not think to take one before he started; I had planned to blip a ladybird or a purple crocus today. If you would rather see the ladybirds and crocus, they are on Flickr.

White he was doing that I made a start on two smaller borders which totalled about sixteen metres. It was mainly to get rid of some of the winter debris rather than to do a thorough weeding job, but at least you can now see a lot more spring flowers than before I started.

We were going to have a bonfire this afternoon and cook jacket potatoes in it for our tea, but the bonfire will have to wait until tomorrow; we both have aches and pains in backs and legs, a sign of old age, so we decided to stop after about four hours; that does mean that between us we spent eight hours on the garden!
