Lions and Pelicans

Here is the flag flying at half-mast over Corpus Christi college, in Cambridge, to mark my father's death.

He was a mischievous chap on occasion, and would delight in taking transatlantic visitors to the college's mediaeval Old Court and saying: ' all this is older than your nation.."

A blue-skies day, but with hardly a breath of wind so you can't see the Corpus crest - the pelican in its piety - as well as you might. However, I've known the Corpus frontage for 50 years , and it wasn't till I took this photo today that I saw all the little lions heads round the tops of its towers
