Meeting Nick Dudman

This early afternoon at college we had a lecture from Nick Dudman. He is a make up and special effects artist, he basically designs and makes creatures for films. The first film he ever worked on was The Empire Strikes Back creating the puppet Yoda. Nick also worked on every Harry Potter film and a few of the Batman films, he was nominated for an Oscar and Bafta award for make up on the final Harry Potter film. It was nice to get a view on what it is actually like to work inside the film industry and get some really helpful tips on how to get into the industry. His lecture was powerfully inspiring, I now feel more directed to get involved in making a film and working on set than I did before.
Next to Nick is my friend Rob and he's a huge Harry Potter and Star Wars fan, he's off to study Games Art at Bolton University next year. He's also one of the most talented drawers I know, here is an example of his work.
