Flat lands

This is the view from the school I am working in this week.

It feels like entering another world.

Normally the views in Scotland are full of hills and buildings and trees. But here it is flat and desolate.

When I parked the car this morning, the first thing I saw was a big black crow.

It half feels like I should be on some film set for Arthur Millers' The Crucible.

Mrs Putnam: It is a marvel. It is surely a stroke of hell upon you.
Parris: No, Goody Putnam, it is --
Mrs Putnam: How high did she fly, how high?
Parris: No, no, she never flew --
Mrs Putnam: Why, it's sure she did. Mr Collins saw her goin' over Ingersoll's barn, and come down light as a bird, he says!
