For the doctor

Yesterday, drcraig said "surely the sign should feature a steaming lump of shit rather than a wee dug" and sure enough, at the other end of the street, we find that same stumpy Airedale, suitably accessorised. I've long been rather intrigued by the design of these signs and the fact that they do indeed feature a steaming pile. As though, without the steam, the pile itself wouldn't quite convey the essential anti-social, poor neighbourliness of letting your mutt crap on the pavement. It's a genre of signage worth further study. I wonder if the ESRC would fund it.
