A Thought for Our Union

Yes thats right I'm pro unionist and proud, the day scotland leaves the UK will be a sad one in my eye's. Of course I recognise the Scots right to self determination so if they choose to be a separate country that's their own choice, just it would seem a shame breaking the great relationship we've had.

I personally have a big grudge against Alex Salmon, he represents the Scottish National Party yet seems not to want independence instead he just seems to want as much from the rest of the UK as possible, that's why he's determined to get devo-max on the table. That aside his policies if he did take office are quite frankly economically flawed, reliant upon huge sum's from oil and of course disregarding the debt Scotland would have to take on (according to George Osbourne). The Scot's of course would have no national bank like the BoE (I would like to see RBS with the credibility to set interest rates and manage an economy ha.) so of course they would face joining the euro, a no go option or instead keep the pound with the BoE of course setting interest rates to benefit England which would likely not suit Scotland. Those are financial flaws before even mentioning oil which is likely overvalued anyway considering the ever increasing cost to drill more.

Even more astounding are the environmental target I quote from the people who know a lot about building such infrastructure the institute of mechanical engineers " This aspirational target (30% renewables by 2020) appears to represent an ambition that cannot be justified from an engineering perspective." Of course this is no obstacle for Salmon, engineers of course aren't important to meet that target for him.

Okay rant over. Good to get that off my chest.
