Chiswick Park again

I find I'm repelled and fascinated by this place at the same time

I have to come here for a weekly meeting at the moment, and so far they've been at an awkward time so I have quite a bit of time before I go to workshop but not enough time to go home - I'd get home and go straight out again

So yesterday I sat outside and wrote a load of lists and thought about these offices

I'd hate to work in the offices I see as I walk through the estate - vast open spaces with hundreds of people all staring at their screens.

But in contrast there's a constant surge of people coming and going, as well as the inevitable gatherings of smokers outside the buildings in furtive little groups, and as in this photograph people going to and from work, there are people making phone calls and there seems to be a culture of meeting people just for a chat or a gossip which gives the area a very human element.

In contrast to Paternoster Square yesterday, people aren't just passing through on the way to somewhere else, they're making a choice to be in certain areas to socialise.
